Taking Pets Onboard

Book early to avoid disappointment

You can take pets onboard the Hull to Rotterdam route and it costs £15 each way.

Be sure to check in at least 90 minutes before departure - all pets remain inside comfortable air-conditioned kennels on the vehicle deck for the duration of the journey. Unfortunately foot and coach passengers are not able to travel with pets (with the exception of registered guide and hearing dogs).

Dogs, cats and ferrets can travel under the PETS passport scheme - those not in the scheme will be subject to quarantine. In order to travel, cats and dogs must be vaccinated against rabies at least 6 months prior to the travel date.

Places for pets are limited, so it's best to book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Ferries to Holland from the UK

For travellers looking for ferries to Holland, there are a number of options other than the Hull to Rotterdam route.

DFDS operate the well established Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry, which sails daily with an overnight crossing to Ijmuiden on the outskirts of Amsterdam.

A shorter option for those living in the south of England is the six hour crossing from Harwich to the Hook of Holland operated twice a day by Stena Line.
