Visit the Botanical Gardens
Take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful Arboretum Trompenburg. Since 1820, these botanical gardens have served as home to enchanting plants from all over the world. Spend a day of relaxation experiencing the sights and sounds of nature in the city.
Museums
Visit the many museums scattered across Rotterdam. The unusual Toy Museum exhibits an interesting and rare collection of antique and vintage toys dating back to 1700. Experience cultural enlightenment with a wide variety of exquisite paintings and sculptures at the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. Other museums include the Chabot Museum, the Maritime Museum and the Kunsthal, as well as a number of other museums throughout Rotterdam.

Bike travel is perhaps the easiest and fastest form of transportation in Rotterdam. You will notice separate bike lanes and traffic lights for bicycles on most main streets. Bicycles can be rented from one of the two NS rental offices near Central Station or at the Use-it shop located outside Central Station. Bicycle your way through Rotterdam and visit the only 7 functioning windmills still remaining in the area. De Lelie and De Ster are the only 2 windmills regularly opened to visitors, though the remaining can be easily viewed from the street. The remaining 5 windmills include:
